Hypericum (St John’s Wort) Hypericum perforatumÂ
 Hypericum is also known as St John’s Wort, is infused from the blossoms, this infused oil has a characteristic red colour. Used topically, it has anti-inflammatory properties that make it useful in cases of nerve inflammation such as sciatica and neuralgia and for recovery from wounds and injuries where there has been nerve tissue damage.
It helps provide relief for swollen joints, muscular spasms, cramps and tension that result in muscular spasms. It is a valued treatment for sprains, bruises, rashes, burns, scars, insect bites and stings, arthritis, nerve pain, sore muscles and joints, shingles, haemorrhoids, swellings, varicose veins, minor wounds, It is useful in treating sunburn, since it actually lowers skin temperature
In addition to its antiviral, astringent, and anti-bacterial properties it contains Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D and is rich in protein and linoleic acid. The oil has a natural ability to reduce skin tension aiding a smooth and young looking complexion; it also helps to prevent stretch marks.
Hypericum is also known for its antidepressant and mood lifting properties it also has sedating affects
