Eucalyptus dives (Leaves and Twigs) Eucalyptus dives

 Has a minty scent that is sharp with a balsamic woody undertone and is colourless to pale yellow. It is considered refreshing and up-lifting. It is high in phellandrene and low in eucalyptol.

This species has different, more specific antiseptic action than other Eucalyptus oils. It is excellent for skin or topical application, avoid direct inhalation. It is also used to combat the effects of colds and the flu.

Eucalyptus Dives is particularly good in muscle aches, sports injuries, sprains, arthritis, neuralgia, headaches and all manner of respiratory uses including bronchitis

Eucalyptus dives rich in a compound called eucalyptol (or cineole). This biological compound has numerous medicinal properties. It can be used as an anaesthetic and antitussive making it a good as a decongestant and exporant.  Some mouthwash formulas list eucalyptol as an ingredient because, as an antihalitosic, it fights bad breath.

Interestingly, eucalyptol has also been used as an antiseptic as an antihelmintic (used in treating parasitic worms), and as a hypertensive agent (for lowering blood pressure}.

Our Eucalyptus dives Essential Oil originates from Australia and is extracted by steam distillation from the fresh or partially dried leaves

Chemical composition

A typical chemical analysis of Eucalyptus Dives Essential Oil is as follows: α-pinene (1.1%), α-phellandrene (19.52%), 1,8-cineole (0.45%), p-cymene (3.36%), terpinolene (2.02%), terpinen-4-ol (4.00%), piperitone (52.27%), trans-piperitol (0.27%), globulol/viridiflorol (6.03%), δ-eudesmol (0.30%), α-eudesmol (0.33%).

Precautions                              

Eucalyptus Dives Oil should not be used on children under the age of 3. It can irritate the skin if undiluted. It is best avoided by people with high blood pressure or epilepsy. Avoid during pregnancy
